LUKE FARRELL & JKS TO OPEN SPEEDBOAT BAR IN SOHO

They turned up the heat (literally) with Plaza Khao Gaeng in Arcade Food Hall and now Luke Farrell and JKS Restaurants are back for round two with Speedboat Bar, opening in Soho in September. The restaurant takes inspo from Bangkok’s Chinatown and the speedboats that race along the canals of Thailand, so it’s going to fast and furious and full of energy, including an upstairs clubhouse featuring a bar, pool table and speakers blasting Thai pop and turbo folk.

Wok cookery and dishes like drunken noodles and stir fries will be at the heart of Speedboat Bar, alongside curries of lychee & roasted duck and soya chicken & winter melon; tom yam mama soup; green mango, crispy fish & pork floss salad; and candied pineapple & butter pie, with specialist Thai herbs and ingredients coming from Luke’s Dorset nursery Ryewater. The drinks offering sounds just as good – we’re being promised Singha beer towers, slushies, rice wines, and cocktails like the Snakesblood Negroni, Shop Window Old Fashioned, and Jelly Bia made with frozen Leo Lager. Roll on September.

Opens September 2022
30 Rupert Street, London, W1D 6DL
