After popping up all over East London, Ellen Parr and Pete Kelly are bringing their regional Chinese concept Lucky & Joy to Spitalfields, taking over La Despensa at Second Home on Thursday nights in July. The menu is a mixture of signature Lucky & Joy dishes and new creations inspired by the pair’s recent trips to China – we’re talking cold sesame noodles, big plate chicken, grilled aubergine with silken tofu and Xi’an lamb burgers. There’ll be plenty of Tsingtao as well as some cocktails and natural wines to go with all those big (and sometimes fiery) flavours.
