Dhruv Mittal, the founder of DUM Biryani, is opening a second restaurant this spring. Lucknow Social, coming to Mayfair in March, will showcase the Awadhi style (low and slow) of cooking found in the city of Lucknow in the north of India, after Dhruv was inspired by his time working as a chef in Agra. Kebabs, curries and biryanis will form the core of the menu, with dishes including kakori kebab with clove and black pepper; lamb galauti; Awadhi chicken biryani with saffron and rose water; and lamb neck korma all on offer. There’ll also be a range of regional parathas and kulchas for sauce mopping action and a selection of cold puds like matka kulfi and sweet rice pudding to finish.

As well as the Zeren Wilson-authored wine list, Lucknow Social is also working with Hackney Brewery on their own beer, and you’ll be able to enjoy all of that food and drink to a soundtrack of chilled beats and Urdu pop.
