Smith sisters Alex and Georgie founded curated online homeware store The London Smiths in the summer of last year. With a love for the capital and its diverse history and spirt, the sisters wanted a space to celebrate the city’s brilliant creative scene and support local artisans.
The store features multiple brands from over 25 makers across the city, with items including everything from natural candles and skincare to handpsun rugs and stationery, all handmade right here in London. The makers come from all over the world – Karina from Leu Ceramics was born in Greece and then moved to London after studying architecture and Akiko from Abokika came to London after designing handbags in Tokyo – meaning there’s a lot of diverse designs to shop from.[easy-image-collage id=108753]
The London Smiths is also about giving back, with £1 for every £30 spent on the site being donated to Arts for All, a creative charity that serves the disadvantaged communities of Tower Hamlets and Hackney with art therapy sessions and trips out of the city, so you can do good whilst treating yourself.
