The Future Plate is a collective of leading Black chefs, including William J M Chilila and Ope Odutayo, who are working to put African and Caribbean cuisine in the spotlight. Growing out of a photo exhibition that showcased some of the country’s Black chefs, which was promoted through curated dinners by some of the talent featured, The Future Plate now encompasses a creative studio (with a hub, test kitchen and academy at Somerset House), casual West African dining brand Chale (which you can find at Setlist at Somerset House), a luxury events caterer, and a management division to amplify the work of trailblazing Black chefs.
