Author, food writer and photographer Riaz Phillips is responsible for opening up a wider conversation about representation and diversity in food media in this country. His first two self-published projects (via Tezeta Press), Belly Full and Community Comfort, celebrate Caribbean food culture and black and ethnic minority cooking in the UK. His third and fourth books, West Winds: History and hidden tales from Jamaica and East Winds: Recipes, history and tales from the hidden Caribbean, dive deeper into the culture of the Caribbean, shining a light on lesser-known stories and dishes from the region.
