Chef and author Noor Murad and Palestinian-British chef Sami Tamimi set up Souk el Salam, a peace market, this year to raise money for The Amos Trust, a charity working to provide emergency relief to Gaza. Some of the UK’s top chefs and food writers – including Phil Khoury, Melissa Thompson, Imad Al Arnab, Ravinder Bhogal, Ixta Belfrage, Philip Juma and Nicole Pisani – provided food for sale, with drinks and products also on sale. Across two markets, the team managed to raise over £38,000.
