Co-founders Matt & Jess Turtle are behind the Museum of Homelessness, the first museum of its kind in the UK and one that is led by people with direct experience of homelessness. First established in 2015, the MoH operated through online and touring exhibitions before it secured a permanent site at Manor Lodge in Finsbury Park, which opened in 2023. As well as building a national collection that tells the stories of people who have lived on the streets and working to change the perceptions of homelessness, the MoH takes direct action, whether that be distributing food or campaigning for rights, to support the homeless community.
