Based in the Trellick Tower in North Kensington, Goldfinger is all about turning waste into gold. The social enterprise transforms surplus and reclaimed materials into quality sustainable furniture and runs a teaching academy and workshops to train marginalised people and local low-income residents in craft and woodworking. The organisation has rescued over 8200kg of reclaimed material from landfill since 2020 and has secured almost 3000 of paid internship hours for local young people not in education, employment or training since 2021. The People’s Kitchen also provides free meals for the local community, fighting both social isolation and food poverty – they run a monthly service making meals for around 60 from surplus food.
