Lorraine Copes founded the not-for-profit organisation Be Inclusive Hospitality in response to the underrepresentation of people of colour in the food, drink and hospitality sectors. BIH’s mission is to create a more inclusive and diverse industry, which it works to do through mentorship schemes, trips and networking events. The organisation also hosts the annual BIH Spotlight Awards, where it recognises and celebrates Black, Asian and ethnic minority talent across categories like Chef of the Year, Drinks Professional of the Year, Writer of the Year, Head Office Impact and Rising Star.
