Connecting people to nature for social, economic and personal transformation is the philosophy behind May Project Gardens. In 2007 co-founder Ian Solomon-Kawall established a community garden at his mother May’s council house in Morden following her passing, and now the organisation helps those from urban, marginalised communities improve their wellbeing through engaging with nature. Programmes such as the Hip-Hop Garden (which uses Hip-Hop as a framework to teach participants about growing food and entrepreneurship) teach participants about global systems, sustainable living and caring for the environment.
