Founded in 2012, KERB has become one of the biggest names in street food, growing from a lunchtime market in King’s Cross to an organisation that encompasses multiple markets, a food hall, an event caterer and a business incubator. In 2023, the markets and business development arms became part of the not-for-profit social enterprise KERB+, led by Gavin Dunn, allowing the organisation to further support people who had been facing barriers to entry in the hospitality industry. Through coaching, incubating and accelerating programmes, KERB+ has been able to empower more refugee-led and female-led businesses. It has also been able to assist people from diverse backgrounds, including ex-offenders and those who have experienced homelessness through job coaching for individuals, all of which is helping to make the industry more inclusive.
