Change Please

Change Please is a social enterprise that uses coffee to tackle homelessness. Started by Cemal Ezel in 2015 with a mobile coffee cart in Covent Garden, the organisation now has ten coffee bars across the city and offers its coffee for wholesale too. The Change Please barista training programme teaches people coffee-making skills and gives them a living wage job, accommodation advice and onward employment opportunities. Through the Driving for Change initiative, Change Please also delivers essential services, like oral healthcare, financial literacy training, hairdressing and social support, to the most vulnerable via repurposed double decker buses. These buses have also been a way for people to access the barista training programme. Across 2023 – 2024, over 200 people were put through barista training and the organisation secured more than 11,300 hours of living wage employment.
