Bees & Refugees

You might be able to guess what Bees & Refugees do from the name, but we’ll fill you in any way. Founded by Syrian refugee Ali Alzein, Bees & Refugees provides a space for community building and therapeutic relief to fellow refugees by introducing them to beekeeping. Through their regular workshops, the organisation is able to support around 80 refugees and asylum seekers and 120 children per year. Plus, since Ali started Bees & Refugees in 2020, they’ve established 50 native black bee colonies across Greater London, which has played a key role in boosting its population, previously on the brink of extinction.
