Weino BIB has opened its doors in Dalston and after just one visit we have a feeling we’re gonna spend an a lot of time there. Weino BIB started life as a pop-up serving wines from bags in a box making them not only better for the environment but also cost effective too, which essentially means you get cheaper glasses of great vino. The wines are mostly natural (although we did spot some regular St John boxes on the shelves) and you can also bring your own bottle (or buy one of theirs for £2) which you can fill up from the boxes and kegs to take-home.

We’d suggest making a night of it and working your way through the wine and food menu which is put together with ingredients from the deli also available to take home and sourced from the best local suppliers – Cobble Lane and Dusty Knuckle to name just a couple. We enjoyed a creamy goose rillette, sobrasada with honey on toast, fresh burrata ravioli and a build your own cheese board from the fridge – essential wine snacks. It’s a bit DIY inside but it works and feels a bit Parisian hipster, plus it’s cheap and you can stock up on your refills of the essentials during your dinner – milk, pasta sauces, juices the LOT. In the day there’s sandwiches and coffee to snack on whilst you shop. Dalston has been crying out for somewhere like this, somewhere you can go for a pre-dinner tipple or full on wine bar dinner and with Weino BIB, it looks like we’ve finally got it.
