Having undergone a huge transformation in 2017 The Trafalgar St James Hotel re-opened its doors in October of that year to show off a hip new look. Inside you’ll find the Trafalgar Dining Rooms, a New York-inspired restaurant, re-imagined for London.
The restaurant definitely looks the part with huge seating booths to get comfy in and great views of Trafalgar Square. We got off to a strong start with grilled sardines with green chilli, garlic and parsley, and zesty courgette fritters, crushed broad beans and garlic yoghurt.
For mains, the rib-eye served with garlic mayo and fries, was a simple dish cooked well and just what we wanted, especially as it came with lashings of that dip. We also tried the salmon with tenderstem broccoli and Chraimeh sauce on the side, which gave the dish a warming lift.

After, we recommend getting a nightcap on their rooftop while looking out at the London skyline – and yes it’s covered so you can still enjoy those views even when the weather’s bad.
