Kiri is a new Japanese izakaya from the team behind Chisou. Located just a stone’s throw from Oxford Street it makes for a very cosy post-shopping stop off, where you can hunker down with some Japanese sharing dishes, beers and sake. The best way to tackle the menu is to order a drink and just a few dishes and then another round… and then yeah maybe another round too. Top picks form us are the thinly sliced octopus with ponzu cress salad; apple-smoked yellow fin tuna tataki; diver caught seared scallops with ponzu salsa; and the pork belly hirata bun.
Don’t miss trying the sake menu too, even if you think you’re not a fan. Kiri import all of theirs directly and have some very drinkable choices that might just convert you.
