The husband and wife duo behind the popular Shoreditch turkey restaurant Strut & Cluck have opened their second site Delamina in Marylebone, and it’s safe to say that this pair really do how to cook up tasty authentic Middle Eastern food.

Like Strut & Cluck, Delamina has a simple rustic interior with lots hanging shrubbery and a neutral colour scheme but here the focus is more than just turkey (although it does pop up on the menu). To start we had the pita balagan, charred cauliflower with lemon-zest infused creme fraiche and the baby aubergines smothered in black sesame seeds and crumbled rosary goats cheese. This was followed by the day’s cut, which happened to be lamb, cooked on the grill and the turkey shawarma, which came with dates and pine kernels on grilled pita, house pickles and tahini and was one of our faves of the night.

We recommend you leave room for dessert, especially the kadayif nest topped with vanilla cream cheesecake and caramelised pecans, and wash it all down with a traditional Israeli red wine. Whether you bring a date or you bring your mates, Delamina is the place if you want a Middle Eastern feast.
