look back | kendal calling 2018

A weekend as varied as the weather (but without any of the misery), Lowther Deer Park welcomed a host of musicians, food and drink vendors and performers for another luminous edition of Kendal Calling. From gin bars to jam tents (that’s music jam not what you put on your toast), Kendal Calling’s wide-ranging extracurricular activities were enough to keep any festival goer satisfied (and voiceless, thank you gospel karaoke) for the weekend and that’s before we get to the lineup!

Highlights from the music end of things include a sun filled set from Bugzy Malone, The Fun Loving Criminals’ storm clearing performance, Mistajam’s late night set at the Glow tent and of course, performing a giant conga line with our fellow crowd members at The Lancashire Hotpots’ Sunday set. Saturday headliners Run DMC had to cancel their set but luckily the organisers had a fantastic plan b up their sleeves – Plan B!

Areas ranged from the chilled out acoustic haven Chai Wallah, the disco and pop filled Strongbow Stage (which included a live radio show broadcast courtesy of Radio X), our forever favourite woodland filled Lost Eden and many more. We washed it all down with some of Kendal Calling’s many craft beers and ciders then made sure to fill up on pizza before hitting the hay- Rain? What Rain?!

Kendal Calling 2019 tickets are now.
