London’s Biggest Korean Creatives Market Returns

Sixty independent makers and all in the name of charity

Fresh from a sold-out edition in Peckham, Market Root – the platform behind King’s Cross’s JUNG Festival earlier this year – is heading to Canada Water on 5–6 September for its eighth outing. Expect a curated, design-led line-up of over 60 independent creatives, spanning fashion, accessories, jewellery, skincare, ceramics, homeware and illustration, all from Korean artists, with plenty of Korean food, desserts and drinks to keep you going.

This edition runs under the theme The Joy of Slowness – an invitation to pause, reconnect with your senses and rediscover the pleasure of creativity in a world defined by speed and automation. In keeping with that spirit, visitors can sit down and write a letter to their future self, a friend or family member, which Market Root will collect and post at the end of the year – a small moment of connection built to outlast the weekend. Alongside the shopping, there’ll be exclusive event-only collections, interactive workshops and the chance to meet the makers behind every brand, plus limited freebies including Bibigo cup noodles and Dr Belemur acne patches.

A portion of proceeds from this edition also goes to charitable causes, including Korea’s Seungil Hope Foundation. It’s dog-friendly, kids under 15 go free, and entry is a very reasonable £3.
