LONDON SHELL CO. IS GETTING ITS FIRST LAND-BASED LOCATION

The seafood restaurant, currently running out of two barges in central London, will open a third site near Hampstead Heath

London Shell Co. is getting its land legs, setting course for N6, with a new restaurant set to open next month. The highly rated seafood spot already has two locations in the city – both of which are on boats docked at the Grand Union Canal at Paddington Central. Their flagship, The Prince Regent, cruises down the Regent’s Canal as you eat, while The Grand Duchess remains docked (better suited to London’s landlubbers).

The third restaurant will be a multipurpose, 30-cover space that’ll also function as a wine shop and fishmonger. The kitchen will be headed up by Grace Bryson, currently sous chef at The Grand Duchess, who’ll be serving up the likes of whole Cornish crab to share, house-cured anchovies and trout sausages with mash.

While full menu details are yet to be released, we can also expect a daily oyster deal from 4-6pm where oysters will be £2 each are cocktails and glasses of wine will be £2 off. That, along with a new place to shop for high-quality fish in the neighbourhood, means that this is very good news for Swain’s Lane locals.

Opens late March 2023
Unit 4, Sonny Heights, Swains Lane, London N6 6AG
