There will be a lot of bare flesh on the second weekend in June because the World Naked Bike Ride is taking over London. The whole idea behind the event is to raise awareness of cyclists on the road, curb car culture and protest the dependence on oil, and what better way to do so than getting your kit off. If you want to show some skin then feel free but if you’re feeling a little nervous about being nude, take advantage of the ‘as bare as you dare’ policy and go heavy on the body paint (and maybe add some shorts – no one wants to chafe).
It’s free to participate so just grab your wheels, ditch your clothes and head to one of the nine start points for this year’s ride (you can find them all here). The routes all converge on Westminster Bridge for the rest of the ride, and then there’s an afterparty at The Steel Yard by Cannon Street. On yer bike!
