This fair city of ours has inspired a lot of music over the years – ‘Waterloo Sunset’, ‘West End Girls’, ‘London Calling’, ‘Electric Avenue’, ‘Bow E3’, there’s been a lot – and now with London Jukebox, the latest installation at the London Mithraeum, you can listen to some of the best songs. Developed by the late Susan Hiller from 2008-2018, the jukebox features 70 songs about London with headphones for you to listen to a track of your choice or one selected by someone else. As well as the music, excerpts of lyrics and a map of London plotting the points on the playlist will fill the walls of the space, in homage to the people and places that make up the city.
