LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL AT COAL DROPS YARD

For the first time King’s Cross is one of London Design Festival’s design districts meaning a whole load of displays and workshops are taking place in the area, including this year’s designjunction show. To celebrate all the LDF activities happening in N1C, Coal Drops Yard, the space home to 50 boutique concept stores and restaurants at the heart of King’s Cross, is hosting its own special shopping evening featuring in-store events and discounts.

On 19th September you can explore some of the LDF events, including the cinema-inspired installation and accompanying short film at Tracey Neuls (with free popcorn and drinks for the screening); the experiential exhibition TouchySmellyFeelyNoisyTasty at Tom Dixon HQ; and the Martino Gamper: Idiosincratico display (to coincide with the artist’s Disco Carbonara installation) at the brand new Samsung space.

Other Coal Drops Yard residents are getting involved on the night too with Earl of East releasing its brand new book The Scented Candle Workshop; Maya Magal hosting a Repurposing Bead jewellery making workshop; and COS offering 20% off purchases from 6pm – 8pm.

Taking in all that design is hungry work but Coal Drops Yard has you covered there too. Bodega Rita’s has a special L.D.F sarnie (labneh ripple, dukkah and falafel) on offer and you can score a free drink with a three-course menu at The Coal Office and 20% off at Tom Dixon, £5 negronis at Happy Face, a free pint at Little Creatures and BOGOF cocktails at Maple & Co when you flash your LDF magazine, so be sure to pick one up!
