london design festival 2017

London Design Festival is back for its fifteenth year and the celebration of all things design is set to be bigger and better than ever, with events, fairs, installations, pop-ups and exhibitions happening all over town. Here are our top things to see and do this LDF…

London Design Festival at the V&A

LDF is collaborating with the V&A once again and this year’s most notable pieces include Flynn Talbot’s immersive light installation Reflection Room, which is being housed in the vaulted Prince Consort Gallery, and Transmission by Ross Lovegrove, a 21.3 metre-long folded material sculpture in the Tapestry Gallery.

Sat 16th – Sun 24th September 2017
Victoria and Albert Museum, Cromwell Road, London, SW7 2RL

London Design Fair

500 exhibitors will be showing off their stuff at this year’s London Design Fair at the Old Truman Brewery. You’ve got four whole days to check out everything from furniture and lighting to conceptual installations created by both independent designers and well-known brands.

Thurs 21st – Sun 24th September 2017
Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QR

Villa Walala by Camille Walala

Camille Walala is bringing her signature geometric designs to the City with her ‘soft-textured building-block castle’ installation. The shapes, made from PVC and vinyl, are actually pinned down flat and inflated by the public, ready for you to go exploring inside. There’s squeezy stress balls and other fun stuff in there, so it’s the perfect escape if you’re having a bad day in the office.

Sat 16th – Sun 24th September 2017
Exchange Square, 100 Liverpool Street, London, EC2M 2RH

designjunction is back at King’s Cross with a big ol’ mix of furniture, lighting, accessories and tech brands as well as pop-ups and installations, including a presentation of the new Renault TreZor concept car, a Turkish ceramics installation and the Canopy pop-up retail space. Campari will also have a boat serving cocktails and street food moored on the canal, which is free to hop aboard.

Thurs 21st – Sun 24th September 2017
1 Granary Square, King’s Cross, London, N1C 4AA
