Lethaby Gallery at Central Saint Martins is marking a decade of community collecting by the Museum of Transology by hosting the TRANSCETRY: 10 years of the Museum of Transology exhibition. The museum is home to the world’s biggest collection of objects and stories celebrating trans, non-binary, and intersex lives. The exhibition features more than 1000 personal artefacts donated by over a thousand members of the community across the UK and Ireland, giving underrepresented stories from the trans community the platform they deserve and providing authentic insight into trans lives during a period of misinformation. As well as items that commemorate private gender milestones, the display also features protest placards from public rallies; a large political t-shirt collection; costumes from the likes of Travis Alabanza, Kate O’Donnell and Nando Messias; works from artists like Claye Bowler, Kasra Jalilipour, Victoria Cantons and Whiskey Chow; best-selling books by Kit Heyam, Juno Roche and Juliet Jacques; and films curated by My Genderation.
