The Playhouse Theatre has been transformed into the Afghan Cafe in the heart of The Jungle refugee camp in Calais to tell the stories of the camp’s residents, new arrivals and volunteers. The play was written by Joe Robertson and Joe Murphy, who took productions over to the camp with their Good Chance Project, so you can be sure that the stories they’re telling are the real deal. With options to sit “in” the cafe itself or watch from the “cliffs of Dover” (the dress circle), it’s a real immersive experience that’ll leave you thinking about the issues raised long after the curtain comes down.
