Taberna do Mercado from chef Nuno Mendes (of Chiltern Firehouse fame)is a tiny, Portuguese tapas joint that serves up dishes both well-known and unusual. The decor is unassuming which is fine, as it lets the food do all of the talking…
For Christmas this year, the restaurant will be taking inspiration from the Portuguese tradition of sharing a suckling pig (£35 per person at lunch time/£45pp at dinner). Available with all the trimmings – charcuterie, cheese and small plates… you won’t expecting roast potatoes surely! and with the price also including dessert – the pig is available for ten to share. However, they can only cook three per day so get in quickly if you want to book!
