Florals for summer? No it’s not groundbreaking but when the florals in question include an installation made up of over 100,000 dried flowers, we’re all over it. Saatchi Gallery is celebrating all things flowers and the ways they have inspired artists, writers and creatives with major exhibition Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture. The exhibition, which had its first run in the spring, was so popular that the gallery has decided to bring it back for another go. Throughout history flowers have been used as symbols of beauty and signifiers of human emotions, and this show explores how they have been represented across a range of different media, from photography to painting to fashion and more. Over 500 works are on display, including a large-scale dried flower installation by Rebecca Louise Law and an interactive digital projection by French artist Miguel Chevalier.
