Of all the spots we’ve been to in New York recently, Penny stands out as one of the best. A laid back raw bar and seafood counter in the East Village, Penny hits all the right notes with its modern, perfectly pitched plates that are full of flavour bombs. You can tuck into the likes of oysters, clams and smoked potatoes, seaweed salad and tuna carpaccio. Do not miss the stuffed squid either! Penny also has one of the best wine lists in the city. Make this one very high up your hit list.
