After a sold-out run at Rose Theatre Kingston, April de Angelis’ two-part adaptation of My Brilliant Friend transfers to the National. The Elena Ferrante novels tell the story of Lenu, played by Niamh Cusack, and Lila, played by Catherine McCormack, who first meet on the streets of postwar Naples and experience huge social and political change over the decades.
