Prison arts charity Koestler Arts is back at the Southbank Centre with its annual UK exhibition featuring work created by people in the criminal justice system, including prisoners, immigration detainees, and secure mental health patients. This year’s exhibition, titled Night Owls and Abstractions, is being curated by poet and playwright Inua Ellams, who was struck by the many depictions of owls featured in the submissions and what they might represent to the individuals in these settings. The show is giving people in secure settings the opportunity to share their voice, so you can expect pieces across a variety of media that touch upon a variety of topics.
