With Feminine Power: The Divine to the Demonic, the British Museum is taking a cross-cultural look at the impact of femininity and the role that feminine spiritual beings like goddesses, witches, demons and saints have played in global religion, in our understanding of the world and in the way we perceive gender identity today. The exhibition features sculptures, artworks and sacred objects from ancient times up to the present, from six continents, ranging from a terracotta gorgon from 500 BC Italy to a specially commissioned icon of the Hindu goddess Kali.
