Housed in the former Peckham Rye train station ticket office, you barely have to leave the station to stumble into Coal Rooms. The 5-course tasting menu is what you really want to go for – it changes regularly but dishes have included sea bass tartare with fig oil & jalapeno granita, langoustine lollipop with guanciale & lobster mayo, and torched marshmallow topped with lacto-fermented apricot & parmesan granita. If that’s not your bag, Coal Rooms also has steak nights, brunch and Sunday roasts.
