Popping up during Refugee Week, Choose Love x A Mile in My Shoes is a shoe shop where you can step into the shoes of a refugee living in London. Opened by Help Refugees and Empathy Museum, the art project from Claire Patey, the pop-up allows you to borrow a pair of shoes belonging to a refugee, which you can take a walk in whilst listening to their story. Storytellers include Somali boxing champ Ramla Ali; LGBTQA+ community support worker Aloysius, who left Uganda after being tortured for his sexuality; politician and advocate for refugees Lord Alf Dubs; and Vivian who was detained in Yarl’s Wood for six months.
