Lenny Henry is staging his debut play August in England at the Bush Theatre, with Artistic Director Lynette Linton co-directing with Associate Artistic Director Daniel Bailey. An exploration into the impact of the Windrush scandal, the play follows August Henderson, a family man and part-owner of a fruit & veg shop in West Bromwich, who is suddenly faced with deportation to a country he has no memory of. The Bush Theatre is partnering with the Windrush 75 network to distribute 750 free tickets and discounted tickets to Windrush generation elders and their families across the UK.
