week’s Londoner is Joshua Atkins, a Northern monkey who made the big move to the big smoke nearly two years ago. In real life he does something geeky in government but in his spare time he pursues his dream to be the ultimate south London it-girl.

A real life Paris Hilton wannabe as we live and speak. So tell us where do you live in London and why?

I chose Oval for a number of reasons the biggest two being; loads of my friends live ’round here but also I wanted to live somewhere that there was a real community. I know half the people in my building and everyone else I’ve got to meet has been really welcoming. I also think that south London has some of the coolest bars, best restaurants and most unique events that London has to offer!

Oh you Southerners, you’re too funny! What about work wise, what do you do to pay your bills?

My official job title is Energy Markets Policy Adviser: basically, I do my best to keep your lights and your air clean.

Clean air is always good, where do you like to hang out when you’re not working?

Brixton Market is a home-from-home, but there’s also a couple of places closer to home which I love. Cable, in Oval is a particular favourite. I’ve always thought London’s got a crazy amount happening all over so a lot of my adventures involve a bit of a traipse off elsewhere!

Finally, any secret tips for tourists?

Don’t be afraid to go a bit further afield whatever it is you’re after – don’t queue for hours for something which everyone else has seen, done or eaten. Going somewhere a bit different will give you a real taste of what this place has to offer.

Some strong words there Joshua, thanks for the advice!
