LIVE THEATRE IS COMING BACK TO SHAKESPEARE’S GLOBE

It’s been a long old wait but live theatre is finally coming back to London and Shakespeare’s Globe (which put on a great schedule of streamed performances during lockdown) is one of the first venues that’ll be welcoming punters back. To keep things as safe and socially distanced as possible, there’ll be staggered arrival times, allocated entrances, no intervals in productions and (at least initially) no standing tickets. Seating will be put in the Yard with reduced capacity across the rest of the theatre, but those famous £5 tickets will still be available.

The summer season is kicking off with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, first performed in 2019, with Twelfth Night starring Artistic Director Michelle Terry as Viola and Ola Ince’s version of Romeo & Juilet also on the programme.

Opens Weds 19th May 2021
