Two Wounded Birds brought their 50’s surf pop to a packed out venue at The Relentless Garage last week. The leather clad wearing gang who kicked of a few dates with Glasvegas were on good form playing a slick set of well crafted tunes that we have grown to love and admire. Their self titled debut album is due out this Summer and looking at the number of people that came to catch them before the headliners, it looks like people are more than keen to get to grips with it.
Front man Johnny Danger told us they are playing a couple of new tracks in the set that will be on the album, and from the sound of the closer in particular, it feels like that could be a future single with its high tempo and catchy melodies. Johnny is off to play guitar for a few weeks in the US with his mates The Drums, returning before the release of their debut. We asked him how he fitted it all in, ‘I just don’t have a day off, just keep playing’. Good Lad!
Two Wounded Birds debut is out on 14th June on Holiday Records. We’ll be catching these guys next at the Camden Crawl on the 6th May, and we may have a little surprise for you all before then…keep your eyes and ears peeled!
