JOHN, HACKNEY
24TH APRIL 2014

Deep in the heart of East London, crowds of hipsters thronged their way towards St John at Hackney to listen to the serene soulful electronica of Jacques Green and Young Turks Record Label’s signing, Welsh producer Lewis Roberts, performing under his guise ‘Koreless’.

The event was scheduled as part of Convergence, a music and technology series focusing on pioneers who use technology to innovate and break the normal beat, by curating various talks and gigs at venues spanning across East London throughout April.

Koreless is a rising star in the world of intelligent dubstep and his tender years are at opposition with the maturity of the music he makes, as a perfect collaboration, Montreal producer, Jacques Greene chose to debut his live act for the first time in the UK at St John’s alongside young Roberts.

The gig presented itself as a class act, with top quality production and ambient lighting to accompany the spaced out beats bouncing off of the Church’s beautiful interior, smoke billowing around the ancient venue, creating a surreal almost eerie atmosphere.
