is just something very calming about being in a record shop. Especially one that is interesting and Lion Records & Coffee is that, bucket loads of it. Sitting on Lower Clapton Road it’s not something you’d expect to find, or maybe it is now Clapton is up and coming…

It’s a coffee shop that has a few records in, so bloody what, it’s not reinventing the wheel is it? Well actually for a small place they have so much going on. From the artwork showcased on the walls (which changes frequently) to the acts and DJ’s that play in-store sets and shows. They even host the odd supper club, knock up a pretty decent breakie & lunch AND all this while you listen to The Rolling Stones. Feel the power of their roar now do you?

The records in store are also of great depth, having some extremely exciting new acts that are pushing the boundaries of music as well as some golden and forgotten gems. You can pick up some free reading material inside too like Beat Mag, Crack and Dalstonist as well as purchase some arty music related books. Not just a coffee & record shop now, is it?
