One of our fave Clapton spots, Lion Coffee & Records, has opened in Shoreditch, taking over one of the units in Boxpark. Set up by Mairead and Chris Hayden, who met when Mairead was managing Florence + The Machine and Chris was drumming for the band, Lion Coffee & Records is all about showcasing a vast selection of vinyl across a range of musical tastes and supporting independent music through live in-store events. The coffee half of the operation comes courtesy of Allpress; that’s where the baristas are trained and it’s the blend they serve.
The store is having a official launch party on 7th November with music from Doobie Fontaine and Longy, and DJ sets from Jamie Reynolds and Nick Grimshaw, and there’ll be some free bevvies flowing too.
