lino to open in the city

Wright & Bell (who are behind The Kitty Hawk) has teamed up with Richard Falk (formerly of The Dairy) to open all-day bar and restaurant LINO. Taking over an old carpet and linoleum warehouse (hence the name) near Smithfield market, LINO will look pretty spectacular thanks to 12-foot high double doors, a peach, pink and green colour scheme, and a clover-shaped bar where you’ll be able to get fun takes on retro cocktails like the Snowball.

Everything is being taken in-house too, from cocktails to charcuterie to bread baking, and there’ll be a strong focus on low-waste practices in the kitchen. Dishes include sauerkraut and cheddar croquettes, belted Galloway wing rib of beef with oxtail and potato tart and croissant ice-cream with brown butter, blood orange and coffee, made using leftover pastries from breakfast. YUM.

Opens Thurs 22nd November 2018
