Theatres are back open again and Lily Allen is clearly happy about it as she’s making her West End debut in the world premiere of Danny Robins’ (best known for The Battersea Poltergeist podcast) new play 2:22 – A Ghost Story at the Noël Coward Theatre this summer. Directed by Matthew Dunster and starring Julia Chan, Hadley Fraser and Jake Wood, the supernatural thriller takes place over the course of one night when Jenny (Lily Allen), who believes her new house is haunted, and her husband Sam (Hadley Fraser) argue with their old friend Lauren (Julia Chan) and her new partner Ben (Jake Wood) about ghosts and whether they exist.
Part horror, part social commentary, the play is an exploration of the clash between belief and skepticism, and it’s not a ghost story without some suspense, so you can expect to be on the edge of your seat for this one.
