When Liberty. Since opening in 1875, the world class department store has reigned high over the pattern industry for decades.
you think of iconic British prints, there’s only one name that springs to mind –Another thing Liberty are pretty good at are collaborations, and you just know you’re in for a treat when they launch another, roll up – Liberty x Vans A/W13.
Expect the unexpected, with prints not seen for over 100 years, like the ‘Liberta Hera’ peacock print on the iconic Vans Authentic sneaker. There’s an air of pimped up Gatsby about it, and one of our personal favourites.
Another Vans classic, the Sk8-Hi has been adorned with the ‘Lanthe’ print from 1967. Which has total 60s psychedelia about it, yet is the perfect colour way for this season. Plus, being a hi-top means your ankles are safe from the chill or shall we say…bloody freezing weather that has just slapped London across the face.
Each piece features rare and limited edition prints, some of which were cut straight from the original fabric, giving each shoe a one-of-kind print placement. You’ll literally be wearing a piece of British history. That’s some seriously pumped up kicks.
Combining the deep traditional history of Liberty with the classic American heritage of Vans, the collection is a stunning ode to both brands values – high quality and premium style and of course they got it right, again!
