Margaux Salon's new West Hampstead site swaps the usual treatment-menu overload for fewer products, fewer steps, and a calmer room to sit in.
Margaux started in Highbury, added Kentish Town, and has now landed a third site on Mill Lane in West Hampstead, without much fanfare, which feels about right for a salon built on doing less rather than more. It’s tucked on a lane just off the main high street, and the location alone gives it a proper neighbourhood feel rather than a destination salon you’d travel across town for.
The whole philosophy here runs against the treatment-heavy salon model most of us have sat through: endless upsells, endless steps, a shelf of products you’ll never open again at home. Margaux works with low-tox, vegan formulations and pushes clients toward routines that are actually maintainable, rather than a 12-step regime you’ll abandon by February.
We started with a proper, thoughtful consultation before anything touched our hair, none of the rushed five-minute chat you get elsewhere. From there it was a cut and blow dry using that stripped-back product system, fewer products doing more work rather than a full shelf’s worth.
