The pizzeria will be bringing New Haven-style slices to Covent Garden this autumn
Lenny’s gained a cult following when it began serving ‘apizza’ with a residency at the Bedford Tavern in Finsbury Park in 2024. There might still be a hot debate over whether there is a true London-style pizza, but Lenny’s is proudly flying the flag for New Haven-style, with its signature chewy crusts and tomato-heavy topping. Before the residency ended last year, everyone wanted to get their hands on one of those asymmetrical slices.
But fear not, apizza fans. Lenny’s is back! This time with a permanent spot in Covent Garden, set up in partnership with MJMK Restaurants, the team behind Casa do Frango and KOL among others.
Full menu details are still to come, but expect the return of old favourite toppings, like the Tomato Pie and The Lenny – half tomato, garlic and pecorino, half mozzarella pie.
Last year we asked the question: how many pizza places can London take? Well, it seems like more and more, with Yard Sale due for a new Angel location and Five Fields announcing a Borough Market spot last week.
