We have a treat instore for you all this week…not one but 3 Londoners! Kitty, Daisy and Lewis are a musical trio who just happen to be siblings too. We caught up with them to find out what they love about the city that is London…
Where do you all live in London? Tell us what’s great about the area.
Lewis: We live in Kentish Town, it’s a great area because you’ve got big parks and you’re close to the West End and Camden. It’s got loads of good pubs and there’s a lot of stuff going on there. I’d say it’s probably one of the best areas in London.
Where are your favourite hangout spots?
Kitty: Southampton Arms which is in Kentish Town, is near our house and we spend most nights in there.
Daisy: Soho is a good area…
Lewis: Yeah, Soho has some good pubs and bars or there were….it’s becoming harder and harder to find good places now I think, usually we spend most of our time at the local pub though.
Do you ever play at the places near where you live?
Daisy: Not much, we don’t really perform in London really, more across Europe.
So we hear you’re covering Johnny Cash on TV, what’s that all about then?
Daisy: For the Walkers home grown advert, we got asked to records a track, called I’ve Been Everywhere. I personally hadn’t heard the song before, I wasn’t too familiar with it. We ran through it, tried out a few different things and finally ended up with a sound that worked out. Think it was good, as we’ve just got a new 16 track tape machine and we’re planning on using it on our new album so it was good to test it for that and give it a bit of a practice.
If you’re in the mood for food, where’s somewhere you’d always turn to?
Lewis: Apart from our own kitchen? Spaghetti House in Tuffnel Park is good. They do a great lobster marinara so if you’re ever in the mood I’d recommend that. We like fish and curry so, lots of curry houses near home.
What would be your perfect day in London?
Lewis: It would have to be a hot summers day, chilling out, afternoon pints in the pub. Summer days in London.
Kitty: Yeah just hanging out somewhere like the Southampton Arms pub close to home would be cool, although we don’t get much down time. Our part of town is still relatively relaxed and cool, it’s not posh like West London or too trendy and hipster like East.
