Londoner
So Cecily you’ve lived in the smoke for 10 years but where abouts is your pad?
I live in Notting Hill, just off Portobello Road and I absolutely love it there. From the odd locals to the steel drum playing Rasta Man, it’s musical and a bit mad. Everyone knows each other so it feels like a village, people do just drop by unannounced which I suppose nowadays is quite ‘old school’ but does make you feel like part of a close community. I’ve lived elsewhere in London but West is Best.
West is Best, those are big words! And we also here you’re big on music, in fact some might say you’re leading lady on the music circuit, who are your ones to watch for 2013?
Ha! That’s a bit generous!! I’d say listen to the new Foals album, proper good stuff. Watch out for Haim, Disclosure and Applescal’s new material. Oh and lend an ear to Sam Smith.
That we most certainly will do and apart from the fabulous Baroque at Playboy Club, where do you go to catch the rock n rollers live?
When you can watch your favourite bands so up close and personal, why go anywhere else ;) Also we have some amazing new programming coming up, I can’t say too much now, but watch out for announcements this month!
But what about when you’re not at work? Where can we stalk you out?
Local to me there’s the refurbished Electric which is home to the BEST Bloody Mary’s money can buy. They even put pickles on the top. Yum. If not West, then I’ll be in Soho. My favourite place for dinner right now is 10 Greek Street. My housemate Andrew and I are a bit obsessed. Come stalk us there.
Lastly tell us what your perfect day in London would be…
It would be sunny and warm, preferably in June when all the roses are in bloom. Leisurely breakfast sat outside a cafe somewhere then a walk with my dog Norman in Hyde Park stopping in at the Serpentine Gallery and settling down with some good music, the papers and a picnic (proper cutlery and wine glasses mind!). It’s pretty simple really but London in the sunshine always makes me happy.
