Luxenberg has been a London resident for the last two years, by day she works in Online PR with a focus on retail clients and by night she runs a popular London fashion blog Style Savage www.stylesavage.co.uk. We caught up with the fashionista to talk fashion (what else?), blogging and London.

US: Where do you live and why?

LAUREN:I live in Marylebone as it has easy access to all my favourite areas of London (Soho, Mayfair, Brick Lane) and the food and fashion scene is outrageously good. You’ll often find me in The Providores tucking into Pan-fried turbot with Israeli couscous seafood paella), Le Pain Quotidien with an organic croissant with white chocolate spread or The Natural Kitchen buying a take-out spinach and feta quiche. Whilst I do my shopping in Sandro, The Kooples, Matches Fashion, and of course Selfridges.

US: Has fashion always been your passion?

LAUREN:Yes, ever since I started my first retail job in 2004 and that’s one of the reasons I started my blog.

US: Tell us more about your blog?

LAUREN:I started it when I moved to London. My friends call me jetsetter and wanted to know all about my travels and London lifestyle. When I started working in fashion and photographing street style for MTV it turned into more of a fashion/lifestyle blog than travel, which I find gets more of a response from my readers.

US: Where do you shop in London, and any top tips?

LAUREN:It varies widely. I shop anywhere from vintage markets like Broadway Market and Brick Lane to Absolute Vintage, Selfridges, Liberty, and Carnaby street. I love anything with British heritage. My favourite vintage store is Absolute Vintage.

US: Who are your fav designers/labels?

LAUREN:I’m a sucker for contemporary. T by Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, Acne, Sandro, Carven, Etoile Isabel Marant, and Helmut Lang. I could live wearing only those brands for the rest of my life.

US: Where do you hang out when you are not clothes showing?

LAUREN:I hang out mostly in Soho and Shoreditch. My favourite restaurants at the moment are Nopi where my dream meal consists of baby chicken twice cooked with lemon myrtle salt and chilli sauce, lamb rump with vanilla endive, and salted caramel and roasted peanut ice cream with warm chocolate sauce for dessert. I also adore Yuautcha for Bean Curd Cheung Fun, Beef Shu Mai and pistachio white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. My favourite bars are Mother Bar, Floripa, Freud’s cocktail bar (try the Holy Freud Lemonades) and the Commercial Tavern .
